Diesmal ein Film für Coach-Potato-Revolutionäre. Ein Al Jazeera Special über Ägypten unter dem Mubarak Regime und was genau die letzten 30 Jahre in Ägypten so (falsch) gelaufen ist. Die Doku berichtet dass eine Revolution nicht über Nacht entsteht und schon gar nicht durch Facebook, Twitter, … ins Leben gerufen wird. (Vorgestern hatte man Flugblätter und Wandmalerei heute halt Facebook und Twitter.) Letzten Endes läuft es immer auf "It's The Economy, Stupid!" hinaus.

Die CBC Doku "Big Sugar" dokumentiert die dunkle Geschichte und die moderne Macht der Zuckerkartelle. Die Zuckerproduktion war ein Motor des Sklavenhandels im 18. Jahrhundert und heute sind die Konsumenten die neuen Sklaven der Zuckerindustrie. Haitische Landarbeiter verdingen sich für 2 US$ pro 12 Stunden Tag auf Zuckerplantagen in der Dominikanischen Republik während die Besitzer in Miami darüber nachdenken welche weiteren staatlichen Subventionen sie gebrauchen könnten. Dazu passt auch der Artikel Zucker: Das süße Salz in den Lebensmitteln aus der heutigen FAZ.

Aus aktuellem Anlass. In letzter Zeit hören wir ja viele Weihnachtsmärchen über den Euro und dass die europäischen Banken ein Hort der Tugend sind. Da möchte ich natürlich nicht zurückstehen und habe auch eine gute Nachricht zum bevorstehenden Frohen Fest zu verkünden! Es gibt ihn den "Guten Banker". Schlaft gut oder schlaft einfach weiter ;~)
